Hi Gail,
Thank you for your comments. I didn't know this existed until I was looking for a way to let the community know about this event. I read the New Albany paper, but am glad to know that this is available, too! I'm relatively new to the area and I'm sure this will be another avenue of getting connected to the community.

Thank you very much! i already have a home for the barn- a family on the south side have fallen on hard times, and this will be a wonderful toy for them- i am off to scrounge a tractor and some critters . I already have a volunteer who signs them up for all the freebies online. Not everyone is online, and if you know someone who does not have regular internet access and is in need, that is something anyone can do to assist. Sign folks up for freebies, samples, coupons, etc., on their behalf. It is at no cost to you but time, and it fills folks mailboxes with all sorts of goodies. Elderly and shutins esp enjoy getting cheerful mail and stuff for free.

Hello Gail,
That is quite a surprise - receiving 2nd Place in the YOURNEWALBANY Blog contest.
Regarding my $30 gift certificate prize, my preferred restaurant is New Albany's Rusty Bucket.

I find the YourNewAlbanyBlog that you and Editor Scott Hummel set up to be a great opportunity for all residents to dialoque on our Community's Public affairs as well as to socialize. I enjoy the blog because it is administrated well and is a place where differences of opinion are repected, and there is civility due to your protocol rules.
See you soon,
Bill

It is always a pleasure to converse with you at school board, Parks & Trail Board Meetings, The NAFK Forum, and this week with State Representatives Garland and Harris.
See you soon,
Bill

Every dog is different. The solutions need to fit the particular dog. I have lots of ideas, and would gladly discuss them further with you. As you can tell from my picture i am a dog person! (and a cat person, and a bird person, and i love the wild ones outside, too) The dog in my picture came to me from a shelter when he was ten. He was left by his owners because he was going blind. The shelter did all they could to place him, but no one wanted a blind ten year old dog. So, home he came, and he shared my life for 15 years. I miss him always. He was amazing, and the pic shows him in his twenties finding the chips i set down for "just a minute"! The world didn't have food he did not like- ah, i could go on forever about dogs, so, if you want some assistance with your dog and storm fears, i will gladly speak with you anytime. Just flip me an email with a number where i can call. There are lots of things you can try, and it is pretty important because sometimes they break things that can hurt them. And sometimes you want to break them for breaking your things! I do understand that frustration for sure.

New Albany History

The Plain Township and New Albany area was settled in 1810 by Noble Landon, who moved to central Ohio from St. Albans, Vt.
Almost 30 years later, Landon and William Yantes of Maryland laid out the village of New Albany, which was centered around Landon’s tavern and inn on High and Main streets.
The village, which had a population of about 50, was chartered in 1856.
In the 1990s, local businessman and philanthropist Les Wexner moved to New Albany with the vision of good schools, recreational spaces and detailed community planning.
He formed the New Albany Co. to oversee land purchases and development to ensure a steady commercial tax base for the village and the New Albany-Plain Local School District.
Today, New Albany is home to over 7,000 people, and Plain Township has over 800 households.
The New Albany Business Park hosts some of the nation’s biggest companies, such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Tween Brands, American Electric Power and Commercial Vehicle Group.
The New Albany-Plain School District, which covers 26 square miles of New Albany, Plain Township and a portion of Columbus, has been rated “excellent” by the Ohio Department of Education for the last three years.
